Elly is a high school student in Southern Maryland. She learns at home and is a member of the California Christian Tutorial (CCT) homeschool cooperative, where she is part of the vocal ensemble. During her senior year of high school, she is dual enrolled with the College of Southern Maryland (CSM).
Elly is a vocal student with Wendy Podsednick. She has also studied under several other artists, including Jennifer Casey Cabot and Shouvik Mondle. In 2022, she participated in the Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard Musical Theatre program in Orlando, Florida. For the summer of 2023, she was accepted to the Vocal Performance and the Musical Theatre sessions at Juilliard.
She has performed on stage with singing, piano, and acting for as long as she can remember. As a five-year member of the Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra and Choir (SMYOC), she has had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall, the French Embassy in Washington, DC, and numerous concerts, festivals, and special occasions throughout Southern Maryland.
During her junior year in high school, she joined the Newtowne Players (NTP) at Three Notch Theatre for a 16-show run as Leisl VonTrapp in The Sound of Music (fall of 2023). For the winter of 2023, she was invited to sing Handel’s Messiah with the St Mary’s College choir.
Then, she was asked to join L’Opéra Comique de Washington (LOC) for their presentation of Offenbach’s opera, La Vie parisienne at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, she was personally invited to join in as a replacement ensemble member for The Mystery of Edwin Drood, learning the show and her part only one month before it opened at the Three Notch Theatre.
During the summer of 2024, she participated in the Port Tobacco Players (PTP) one-week intensive program that culminated with a presentation of Mean Girls, where she played Gretchen Wieners.
In the fall of 2024, Elly joined the Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland (CTSMD) to play Johanna in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. In this role, she demonstrated the full musical range of a lyric soprano, reaching a high Bb on stage with the chorus and solo. Her upcoming role as the lead in Anastasia with the Garrett Music Academy (GMA) will allow her to take the audience on a music adventure with the songs Once Upon a December and Journey to the Past, along with others.
Before she hits the stage in Anastasia (June 6 & 7, Huntingtown, MD), she will sing with the COSMIC Symphony during the Song & Dance concert! Elly won the 2024 Young Artist Competition and will join the COMSIC Symphony for two concerts, on February 22 (Calvert County, MD) and 23 (St Mary’s County, MD).
Some of her favorite musical memories include:
